Upcoming Movie - Alice In Wonderland March 5

Until a few weeks ago, hadn't stepped foot into a movie theater in about a year. (LMAO, I take that back - according to my blog the last time was Aug '08!) Hubby insisted on seeing Avatar in Imax 3D, so off we went. Meh, it was ok. Updated Dances with Wolves. Admittedly it looked very pretty. Stumbled into this ad, though, and now I get to drag H to something I actually want to see. In a movie theater. Yes, hell has frozen over, apparently.

Johnny Depp? I'm so there. Tim Burton? Excellent. Alice? Wonderland? Off with her head?! Yippee. Now THAT'S a combo worth seeing. Trailer looks sooo cool. Can't wait. Hmmm, The Mad Hatter speaks like Willy Wonka? I regretted not seeing The Chocolate Factory on big screen, so don't want to miss this one.

I waited until Part II aired on the 17th so I could watch the whole thing at one sitting. WONDERFUL!!!!!! Have seen it 3 times more since. What an exemplary cast and story. I was a little worried about it not being as good as the original, but no disappointments at all.

Perfect day to re-watch it today, it poured morning between 6:30-9am (I couldn't believe it - just in time for the commute, poor people), then afternoon. Lots of thunder, kitties used to it now. Of course it was sunny and dry just between noon and 2pm when I hauled the catts out, so ironically I had to water everything with a hose. LOL. Oh well. Turned the fan on to help dry them all out, don't want them cold and wet. All buds stalled. Bummer.

Big Storm

Holy shit, we got a hell of a drubbing overnight thru this morning. Around 6am the rain beat the house like drums! The wind just whipped thru everything. Wow.

I was surprised to see everything still standing today. LOL.

Unclogged Drain!

Small victory against the bathroom clog today! Well and truly plugged up at the main drain, it required 2 hours before it gave it up. Casualties: multi-cut left hand, 3-blistered right hand. Hubby came in at end to help. LOL.

Shopping: The Musical

Much lighter fare than Woolf! Another half price set from Tix. A bunch of skits dealing with different aspects of shopping. All were very funny. My favs were the "Street Fair", "Holy Foods", then "Costco", in that order. Hubby didn't find #2 as funny, as he's a big shopper there. All four performers were good, and we specially liked Michelle Pliner.

Parked at Sutter again, very brief walk. The Shelton theater was cute, with several different rooms (some magic show in the other room, and improv at 10pm). Cups of wine for $4 (Ravenswood Zin), and the server was really sweet. The only unpleasant thing was the strong urine smell in wafting from the bathroom into the lobby area all the way down to where we sat. If they don't fix that, I don't think I'm returning.

Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable evening yesterday.
