Paph Pinocchio Happier

After a nice half hour submerged soak, it perked up yesterday, and I did a soak again today.

Very warm weather today, 80s, bright sun immediately at sunrise, so I had to cover the orchids right away at 7am. Watered them all too.

Paph Pinocchio Not Happy

Well, as expected, Pinocchio is sulking from the repotting yesterday. All its leaves have lost a little of their turgidity and feel a bit limp. Don't even start with the dirty jokes. LMAO.

Will keep an extra close eye on it.

Orchid Maintenance

Now that I'm not constantly monitoring the kritters, I can turn some attention back to the orchids. Took four hours - along with continuous interruptions from the kitty-people looking for hugs or snacks or just to see what I was doing.

All indoor orchids showered and brushed and checked for pests. Even dusted the furniture. Repotted Brassia Edvah Loo 'Goldilocks' and Paph Pinocchio into smaller pots. Think I might work up the energy to take everything out this weekend, the weather forecast looks good. New spike bud started on Phal amabilis.

Outdoor orchids had some funky weather today. Overcast all morning, lots of fast-moving clouds all day alternating with full sun. And windy. Gusty. Blew over both zygos before I just decided to put them on one of the carts. Worried it might stress them out, so I moved both carts as close to the house as possible for shelter. Second day up to the right side of the patio. Sun till almost 6pm.

Finished Phal Spreadsheet

Got the phals all squared away on excel, including pics for all but 5 of them.

Slc Vallezac 'Evelyn' has one bud, developing nicely. Dtps Yu Pin opened first bud. Paph Pinocchio still blooming away, just amazing. Lots of pretty flowers decorating my office. Really cool.

Dropped into PV to pick up several bags of bark, prompting a woman on the other side of the aisle to remark that I must have a lot of orchids. Now to repot all those cyms. Yikes.

Excellent Weekend

Had the greatest time with Hubby this weekend. He's the funniest guy ever. But we were out a lot, and kitties were unhappy campers - not enough lap time. Posted all the food stuff on the dining blog.

Gardening: Sooooo happy for the unseasonal sunny and dry month we've been having so far. Getting so much done, especially since I just recently re-ignited my gardening bug. Not a minute too soon. Poor orchids. They've been such troopers, and all the cyms and catts are having a heck of a battle with some frigging scale. Screw any natural remedies, we're going wholesale annihilation. First spray just last week, we'll see how it goes. The phals are ok, and my paph delenatii seems to have stabilized. My paph Pinocchio is doing very well despite the neglect. Maybe it'll even think about blooming. It has the most gorgeous flower, and I'm not even a paph fan.

Digging thru old pics was re-inspiring. Beautiful roses, flowers, and this Blc Morning Glory x Sunset and cym:
