Napa Wineries With Little Sis

Baby Sis very interested in learning about wine, and really enjoyed her visit there last time, so I had a nice selection of wineries for this time.  Unfortunately she wasn't feeling too well, and we only made it to three before we had to head off.

First, lunch here, I like this place, and the server wasn't snotty, and even nicely packaged and bagged leftovers for us.  Yummy!!

First stop, Baldacci Winery.  Small, cute like Shug, but mehhhh.  Could've done without it.

Second stop, Silverado Winery.  Touristy, but still very nice.  Beautiful grounds, lots of places to sit and sip, or read if it's not busy.  S start feeling ill, so no tasting.  Definitely will return to do some tasting.

At the end of the room is an off-limits area, but I was able to sneak this pic of their private tasting room.  Really nice, must inquire about it when we're hosting!

Last stop, Stags' Leap Winery.  Most of it was closed off this time, all the drywall up for renovations.  Trying to turn lemons to lemonade, they turned the construction into a signing wall, where my sis left her mark too, LOL.  She'd written something really clever, wish I'd thought to take a pic!  I got her the reserve tasting so she could taste the $200 bottle.

Napa Valley Visit Last Friday

More pics, although I forgot to take any pics of Silver Oak, which was the nicest of the ones on this round. They credited our tasting against the price of the bottle we bought, AND gave us 2 glasses.

PlumpJack - pretty place, but the wines, mehhh.

Regusci Winery - the wines were just ok (better than PlumpJack), but our server was freaking hilarous. We'd definitely recommend him unless you're offended by a bit of salty language, then go talk to someone else:

Domaine Carneros - there may be better sparkling wine elsewhere, but this place is ALWAYS a winner for us. Especially since it's on the way out anyway. We sip some champagne at day's end, enjoy some cheese (forgot a pic!) and look out over the balcony. I stocked up on their newest 2002 late disgorged and some La Rêve.

Right Now - V. Sattui Winery

From Wine Country

Cute for tourists and families, it has a large picnic area and deli to buy lunch stuff. But otherwise avoid like the plague. The wine, *shrug*. We've taken visitors there several times now, and it is insanely packed. Only reason we're here right now is 'cause Hubby's assistant asked specifically for something from here.
