Oh wow. This is the glummest tone I've gotten from this series so far. The juxtaposition of the certain, bright, happily anticipated Midsummer with the dark, uncertain clouds of societal and authority breakdown is very unsettling and provocative. There was more character development of the team in this one, which I really enjoyed.
